For many, the monarch butterfly is seen as a beautiful representation of migration. During our workshop we hosted at Bard College Annandale, we lead a group of students to create their own monarch butterflies, writing what immigration meant to them in the wings. Here are the products of that exercise.

Early this January the Dream Team had the opportunity to present for the Bard Early College advisory board to update them about our progress since our first presentation last year! We were fortunate enough to have lots of good news to share including our events hosted during Ally Week and Symposium Day last year, and our successful Karaoke Night fundraiser this past November!
The Dream Team was honored to be invited to present at Bard College's inaugural Symposium on Difference and Justice, an event for students from many of the Bard Early College schools to share presentations on social activism and civic engagement. We discussed past events that we have hosted, presentations that we have given for the Bard Early College Board and Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, and what it takes to create a Dream Team.
The Dream Team and some members of Undocufriendly had a wonderful time meeting with Queens Borough President Melinda Katz. We look forward to working with the Queens Borough President's Immigration Task Force in the future, and are incredibly grateful to President Katz and her team for taking the time to learn about the ways in which we have been supporting our immigrant community!
It was an honor for BHSECQ's Dream Team to be invited by the Bard Early Colleges Advisory Board to share our work, along with HOPE Scholarship founder Sandra D'Silva (BHSECQ '17), at one of their meetings. We look forward to working more with the board in the future in supporting the HOPE Scholarship and possibly starting Dream Teams in other BHSEC schools!
